The new Construction Products Regulation introduces mandatory Digital Product Passports for all 37 product families. Two independent timelines must converge before DPP becomes obligatory — and the dates are different for every product.
The EU's Digital Product Passport for construction products is not a single deadline — it's the convergence of two independent regulatory tracks.
Regulation 2024/3110 replaces the old Construction Products Regulation. It introduces Digital Product Passports, new standardisation requests, and Harmonised Technical Specifications for all construction products placed on the EU market.
A structured digital record carrying environmental, technical, and compliance data for every construction product. It must be accessible via a data carrier, linked to a central registry, and machine-readable.
DPP becomes mandatory only when both the product timeline (harmonised standards in force) and the system timeline (EU DPP infrastructure operational) are complete. The binding date is whichever comes later.
DPP obligation = max( Product HTS + 12mo, Art.75 DA + 18mo )
